Teachomatic what to automate, and what not to

Privacy

Short version: this site collects almost nothing, because it barely can.

What the site is

Static HTML and CSS. There is no JavaScript on any page. No analytics, no tracking pixels, no cookies, no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to.

That is partly principle and mostly consistency. A site with an article telling teachers to check what leaves the classroom should not be quietly collecting behavioural data on the teachers reading it.

What is collected

Server logs. Your hosting provider records requests: an IP address, a timestamp, the page requested, the browser string. This is standard for any web server and is what allows a site to be served at all. We do not analyse these to build any picture of individuals.

Nothing else. No account, no sign-up, no newsletter that requires an address, no embedded third-party widgets, no social media trackers, no session recording.

Fonts

The site uses webfonts. Depending on how they are served, a font request may go to a third party and expose an IP address. Where we can, fonts are hosted alongside the site so that no third-party request is made.

If you write to us

If you send a correction or a question, we keep the message so we can reply and so we have a record of the correction. We do not add you to anything and there is nothing to be added to.

What we do not do

No advertising of any kind. No selling or sharing of any data. No profiling. No content from advertising networks. No money from anyone in this market at all.

Children

This site is written for teachers, not for students, and asks for nothing from anyone. It should be safe to open in front of a class, which is not something we would say about most sites on this subject.

Changes

If any of the above changes — particularly if anything is ever added that collects data — it will be stated here with a date, and noted on the corrections page rather than quietly amended.
